Darkest just before Dawn, and it's now DAWN

Today has been definitely the best days during these few weeks of holidays while I rot at home struggling to find a job. Today was THE DAY. In the morning I was called for an interview at the Wisma Genting tomorrow at 1130 but that was nothing when compared to the next news. In the afternoon I received a call from a private number and I thought it was yet another company calling for interview but it turned out to be Standard Chartered Bank. She told me the details of my entitlement in the company and so forth while I was still blur.

 FINALLY!!!

Of my gosh, I am so thrilled and happy that the search was finally over. My job was sorta related to data entry and as a support clerk. These were the details:

Salary :                         RM 1164
Annual leave :                      1 per month
Contract :       3 months (renewable)
Medical claims :        RM 1000 per annum
Medical leave :           14 days per annum
Working hours : 8.45 - 5.45 (Mon - Thur)
            8.45 - 4.45 (Fri)

I guess that's about it and I'm very very happy now. My hard work did pay off. Thanks to those who wish me luck in finding a job and those who supported me along the way. I feel like I'm gonna give one of those Grammy Award Speech... Hahaha... Now thats left to do is to reject the calling from Genting tomorrow. Now that I've solved one problem, I can deal with my Undang and SAT registration next.

I'll make another post later on my lunch these few days and the zoomed-in photos later. Now time for a game. See ya~

TIRED & DEPRESSED

It has been a while since I made my own sandwiches. This time however, cheese and lettuce were the missing ingredients. Nevertheless, it still taste great and it was definitely filling for a breakfast. Again I sat at Steven's office till 9.30 am before finding Sew at Dang Wangi. I noticed people around him started talking to me.... OMG.... Haha... I'm so shy that most of the time he did the talking. Told ya I'm shy with strangers.

SHY~

Today was yet another day of interviews. The first one was at the Menara Standard Chartered for the job regarding data entry at the Standard Chartered Bank. The interview was real fast and left me blur at the end. I can only hope I did well enough because this job seems "alright" for me I guess. Sew tagged along for the first one.

The next was the Menara AIA next to CBN apparently. It was also another job regarding data entry but the distance to the office was quite far, not to mention the no-so-high pay offered. They will contact me if they have a 6-months-contract available. Sew went for this interview but he rejected it before it even began. Hahaha... They pay isn't enough to cover his living cost as he stays with friends unlike the mama-boy me. Soon, I'll leave this place very soon.

After the second interview, Sew and I parted ways as he went for to eat his maggi mee. I, on the other hand went to Times Square and since I was hungry.... I opt-ed for...

Wendy's

The spicy chicken was too darn crusty and bland on the inside. The medium sized set of fries and frothy float definitely filled up my expanded tummy. It took me a while to finish it. Then I hit the BORDERS to read a book. Rav.... you're not gonna like this.

House of Night - TEMPTED
( I have already read past half the book and now in chapter 23...
...in just 1.5 hrs)

I really liked supernatural fictions. After that was a series of monorail and LRT before I reached the legal firm at Sultan Ismail. It was nostalgic seeing back my primary school, but it was closed today. So no visits for me....SAD.... I went at find the building called Wisma Thakarad I think and then the wait I had to endure....

1700 - reached and filled up forms
1745 - went for a typing "test" and passed
1800 - went to a room and had a pre-interview with Ms Annie(not the boss)
1815 - told to wait for boss 20 min because he was in a meeting
1845 - Ms Elizabeth came in and interview ( she's not the boss also)
1905 - told to wait for the boss again
1915 - said the boss is still busy but laid out the terms of employment

How the hell can I not get pissed? But I was looking for a job so I guess I'm at their mercy. Funny thing was I realised I am not happy with their terms.

1. No annual leave for first year of employment
2. 8.30 - 6pm weekdays plus OT not paid
3. 3 months termination notice

After referring to a HR friend of mine, the terms are applied very strictly to the Employment Act but working hours is exceeded and I had a too long termination notice period. He said that even managers have 2 months only. So am I holding a post higher than that of a manager? Hahaha....

After his dinner, I went home and had mine. Then here comes the depressing part....

A collegue of Steven said I am older than Steven is. OMG how can this be ... I'm only 19 and he is 22. I am so depressed ever since I gained back my weight and my sis saying I have eyebags now. In addition to those are my all too ugly dark circles around my eyes. So bloody depressed and I had no appetite to eat. I still cannot believe this. I guess its time I started taking my health seriously; This means I gotta start back my healthy lifestyle and plenty of exercise. It's high time I shed the fat gained through my exam period. Gotta see what I can do tomorrow.

~Wish me luck

O . M . F . G ~

Today has been the most OMFG day of my life. WHY? Its simple.....

I FAILED my Undang Theory test. Since my Bahasa isn't exactly first grade, I opt for the English one instead. I can tell you their English can sometimes be confusing. I mean like for example, whats the difference and how should I know :

1.   Narrow road ahead
2.    Narrow lane ahead
3.   Narrow river ahead
4. Narrow bridge ahead

This is an example of some of the few. Furthermore their questions on demerit points made myself confused. Well, I admit i is partially my fault for not putting in enough effort. I was a little overconfident after practicing with the mock test I got from an uncle. The emotions I'm having now... I seriously haven't felt this way since I received my SPM results for EST.

~DEPRESSED~

Looks like I'll have to pay another RM50 and sit for the damn thing again. Now really down and in need of cheering up. But who's there? I'm alone at the moment with my loved ones busy and far away. I was expecting a good results but when the slip came to my hand, I was stunned by the 1 extra error for me to pass the bloody exam.

Now?
Gotta go read harder. And you know I hate rules, expecially ones that have no meanings. Eg. demerit points
Its a good thing they punish you this way but do we really need to remember howmuch points they demerit you each offence? Not like there's a police officer gonna say...

"Encik anda telah buat kesalahan..... Tahu berapa demerit and ditolak?"
"Erm, saya tak tahu oooo.... Berapa harr?"
"Tak tahu, bagus.... demerit lagi 5 point sebab tak tahu"

So why ask stupid questions? OMG..... I am so pissed and depressed
Hopefully nothing stupid comes in my way today or I'll OBLITERATE it from my path !

Dad's Birthday ~

My family is that of a traditional one but I like the fact we celebrate important occassions such as BIRTHDAYS and speaking of birthday, it's my dad's turn today. It is his 51st one already this year.

Waking up at 10 in the morning, I made a morning birthday call to him while breakfast-ing. Then I went to decorate the cake I made the day before. Since I was too lazy, I didn't blog about it. As usual, they requested for a Classic Marble Chocolate Cheese Cake. It is actually the first kind of cheesecake I made during my Third Form I think. I forgot the photos but later on I'll add it. The decoration was of a simple icing sugar - plain white with dark chocolate surface matches well.

After the deco and my lunch I finally started reading my Undang. I really am an IDIOT when it comes to the road majorly due to the lack of sense of direction and common knowledge on road signs. Guess I gotta work a little harder to compensate my previous ignorance. I managed to get some mock test computer generated quiz from an uncle and did some practice. Failed most of the time and I started becoming depressed. Putting it aside, I continued my jobsearch throught the net. After some calls here and there it was already five in the evening. I took a quick shower and styled my hair before going out for dad's birthday dinner.

This year it's a little difference because the place we're going is due to my reccomendation - Manhattan Fish Market. I told them to go to Sunway but since dad wanna take some photos at KLCC, we went there instead. The traffic was suprisingly smooth and we reached in no time at all. We were hungry thus headed to the restaurant immediately. Mind you this is my first time dining at this restaurant at the KLCC branch. i presumed it to be as good as that of Sunway but apparently I was wrong. We ordered a Grilled Platter but the staff didn't understand when I said I want flaming sauce on my prawns. Then another plate of Dory fish with garlic butter rice. It was the five of us finishing off quite a load of rice, chips, fish and other seafood. In comparison to that at Sunway, the rice was tasteless, the chips were wet, the fish not fresh, the prawns were tiny and the mussel's garlic gravy was too little. It was definitely a let down after the one I had in Sunway some time ago. I guess different places has different quality, not to mention the not-so-good customer service I got here at KLCC....and they said no discount on student card while I got it at Sunway, on a weekend too. Fine, since it was a celebratory occassion, I let it slide. The best thing was the hot chocolate brownie and ice-cream that came as complementary for birthday customers.

After the filling meal, we seperated off. My sis, dad and I went for the photoshoot session. We started off indoor and proceeded to the park. My sister was actually shy and kept repeating how "thick skin" I was on the face. Hahahaha...... It was definitely entertaining for me. The photos are with my dad so you peeps will have to wait a while. The night was filled with countless tourist that one particular conversation with my dad left me laughing hard enough :

Tourist : You're a professional photographer?
Dad     : No, I'm... I'm a tourist...

( There I went laughing. What are we? Tourist? Tourist from KL... visiting KLCC..... Laughing madly)

Dad then helped them take some photos and off we were to the park. At least the weather wasn't being hot on us so I didn't sweat or my hairstyle will be a goner.

I HATE SMOKERS !!!!

I hate these BAST**DS !!!

All the innocent children are victims~

But this I like this ceiling deco~

There were smokers everywhere and I absolutely hate them. I reccon they should lock themselves at home and smoke themselves to death and not harm others with their deadly second hand smoke. Worse added was the pride they took in doing so, as if it was uber cool to smoke. I was like....

"Come on, the only thing cool about you is you're literally killing yourself slowly and you're wasting money at it... Not to mention polluting the air I breathe..."

Well, after everything we headed home for the cake ceremony and off to bed I was after some anime online.
The pics will be here soon...... I think.....

Interview Tries Day 2 ~

Another day, another chance it is for me to land a job so that I can have enough money to feed my voracious tummy. I followed Steven down to his office and had Subway for breakfast. It was on me (how dare he.... Grrr...) One of his colleagues tagged along too, Vivian was her name is not mistaken. After that I went back to his office to eat my meal. I realised I might start being a regular visitor here that people start knowing me. LOL. However, I am still a shy little boy...

( How many would have died laughing after reading this...)

It was too long since exposed to the aunty-office-environment. You know where these aunties can argue over a minor thing as if planning the next world war. I realised his good for nothing manager kept staring at me for apparently no particular reason. It is my guess that he must be wondering :

Who's this new guy and what's he doing over at Steven's place?

I didn't bother looking at him but I was of course nervous with so many eyes on me. I left his place a little before 10 am.

I rushed to the LRT and rendezvous with Sew at the Ampang Park station. He's a punctual guy and I should keep that in mind though I wasn't late myself. Then we headed of to the Bank Of China for the first interview of the day. We arrived a little too early and the not-so-kind staff asked us to have a tea at the second floor while waiting for my interview session. We went up and Sew had his breakfast of some spicy Malay food. At 11 am, I went down for the interview while Sew remained behind. It took HELL long for my turn after filling up some form and an IQ quiz. My interviewer was busy and came in only at a quarter before 12. We started off the interview with a few basic questions on my education, family and career background. Then she came clean that I was "overqualified" for the job and it would be a waste of my "skills". I guess it's a nice way to reject someone, but we did have a lengthly discussion on my career on actuary and my study options. Weird thing was the elder female interviewer kept changing topics to her husband foolishness is rejecting NYU offer when he was young. They were both very cheerful and full of humour. It did relieved me a bit after being rejected. Upon finishing my session it was Sew's turn. I told him the reason I was rejected but asked him to worry not for the interviewers weren't scary people. Sew is also nervous for every interview we went.

We were almost late for the next interview had we not taken the cab. The weather was being merciless on us too. We arrived at the Aik Hua building in which the cab driver initially thought it to be "Ah Kua" building, vulgarly known as "pondans". I expected the company to be a decent one due to the arrangement of the office but I was proven otherwise. Sitting down in the interview room with Sew, a middle age uncle with huge beer belly started speaking in Cantonese. The lack of professionalism had led me to draw an early conclusion of a scam company. He went on and on about earning quick money and all other BULLSHITS that came out from his ass of a mouth. He really was getting on my nerve but the main victim was Sew. I was waiting to see who would explode first but no one did. Apparently I do not see eye to eye on nearly everything he said which is again BULLSHIT to me. His bloody business mind and F***ed up attitude really gets me boiling. He was from the start having no interest in our career but only money for his FOREX company. This is a illegal foreign exchange company trying to lure young minds into it. Remember and stay away from MT Aryacom. Plainly said, the experience was blood boiling and not at one bit educational. So off we were after asking for time to consider.

I have a third interview at 4pm but Sew was done so we walked to the monorail station after almost scammed by an idiot taxi driver. He wanted RM10 for a 2 min drive to the monorail station. He took the monorail to KLCC to join his friends while I went to Times Square instead. Being hungry and low on cash I bought a Euro bread at Bread History for RM4.20 and went to read some novel at The Borders bookstore. While at the bookstore I heard a young lady screamed like a mad woman and I thought she fell down the escalater at first. After seeing her sandals outside I think she was carried off by someone... KIDNAPPING?

The next company I was scheduled at 4pm is at BGI opposite Times Square. It is the Progressive Insurance S/B on the 7th floor. I applied for an Underwriting post on Jobstreet and was called for interview. After reading the company profile and filling in a lot of forms, I was led to the meeting room on the 9th floor. I waited and came in an mid aged man and woman. The first question out of their mouth was :

"You're looking for a permanent job or a temporary one?"

I said till next year end most probably and the guy said he knew I was too good to be true after having viewed my resume. They said they were looking for a permanent staff instead but we had quite a chat still. The man went of for a meeting and the lady stayed behind to entertain me. She told me a little about my future career and a young man who came for internship. She said she will ask the CEO if it is okay to hire a temporary staff. But I guess that makes 2 rejects in one day. SAD ~

I head back to The Borders to read until it was time and I headed back to KLCC. I rode home in Steven's car again. Today we decided to go movie for few reasons. We're both quite tired, its a Wednesday (half price) and we both wanna watch Ninja Assassin. We bought the tickets, went and bought his dinner and rest up at my place. We took dinner together and then a quick shower followed by a short rest ; we needed it or we'll sleep through the movie. The show was at 9.45 pm so we left my place at 9.30pm. We barely reached in time and after purchasing a popcorn combo, we headed into the theatre.

If you're into blood, this show is for you. If you're not, I'd advice you not to go. The action was really good especially the slow motion. I love actions and the show put my hairs on ends throughout the entire film. The only thing I have problem is Rain's long hair. His short hair is so much better than the long one. This makes him very rugged but still his hardcore body is simply amazing. I wonder if I will reach such a stage.... (dreaming on) This is so far the best ninja show for me I guess as the main characters are good looking. I like the ending too but I'm not gonna spill anything here so no worry. Go give it a shot at the theatre and you'll love it, especially Rain's die-hard fans.

~Peace out~

SCAM SCAM SCAM !!!

Today was kind of a waste of time, effort and sweat. I attended 2 interview with a friend today. He's a relatively new friend I can say. He goes by the name Sew. As for the original plan of attending an interview at Jalan Ipoh, I cancelled it due to distance and transportation problems. So I hopped along with Sew to his first destination at Menara Ambank at Jln Yap Kwan Seng.

Before that, lemme recall what happened. I followed Steven to work today because my original interview was sceduled at 10 am. I had no where to go before the interview so he invited me in as visitor. LOL... Its like son following daddy to work scenario. At his place, I was being the usual shy person I am around strangers. During the short hour I got to see his work place which i moderately messy with documents. His department were mostly Indians with only 3 Chinese including himself and a Malay? Don't remember because I didn't pay much attention.

After an hour I could not bear the attention from the people there so I took off early. At the same time I touched foot on Ground Floor, Sew arrived at KLCC station already. So after some directions, I met him at the entrance of Avenue K. Its our first time speaking face to face but luckily not much of an akward moment. I made a simple call to the company he was going to interview to make arragements for mine too.

Since it was early, we went to KLCC's food court since he hasn't taken breakfast. He ate some beef noodles if I remembered correctly. Then off we were to the AM Bank building.

At the 33rd floor of the gigantic building lies a fishy office by the name of Elegan Destiny. I didn't know the company nature of business until the interviewer told me. Apparently after asking the receptionist and having her mumbled something, I gave up. I was then interview by a middle age woman with basic questions regarding my education, family and working experience. With little fear I guessed I answered her with enough confidence. It took some time as she explained that this ELEGANT DESTINY is actually a financial consultant firm or some sort. Beasring no loss, the interview acts as an extra experience for me.
(However upon searching online, people complained about it being a scam to attract applicants to invest into this FOREX company.)

Finishing the interview we headed back to KLCC Isetan for a look at some office attire, he is picky when shopping for clothes. After a quick round on the mens department we to the went for coffee, at Starbucks due to a spur-of-the-moment. I ordered a Venti Chocolate Chip Cream Blended without knowing he order something similar too, but coffee based for him. He ordered an extra donut, claiming to be hungry. In the end, he took quite an effort finishing the Grande cup of coffee he bought. Lucky me since I ordered a medium size only. After a short rest we decided to check if there are any movies tickets but due to long queue, the mission was aborted. We headed off to the second destination at Bangsar.

Exiting Bangsar Lrt station, we crossed over from the UOA building to a row of shoplots. having called the interviewer a couple of times but she couldn't give me the name of the company. All she said was find shoplot 30-2 and it turns out to be like treasure hunt and we're supposed to find our location. Entering the office - Pegasus Advertising, I felt strange as it was very new but I discarded the thought at the assumption maybe its a new branch. Filled up some forms and we awaited our turns. It was really a surprise when the young mid 30 lady turned out to be our interviewer as my first assumption on her was she as the secretary and the middle age guys who look like the boss sat at the receptionist counter. The interview was some sort the same with some basic questions as the first interview and a very very very long talk by the lady on advertising procedures. Giving the nice pay offer she had, we were happy to accept but still needed our parents approval so we asked for some time. She gave us until 3 pm so we went back to KLCC. On the way, we both made our calls and sms-es.

Reaching KLCC, we decided to go for a little celebration and bought 2 tickets to the movie - New Moon. After that my meal was taken at the KFC. He ordered a cup of Coke and sat to rest his legs, so did I. We had a fluent conversation whilst me eating my lunch. Then evrything start going the other side. My dad and Steven gave me a call. They both did a research on the company name online and found out bad remarks regarding the company. It was infact a scam to pull young fresh graduates into direct sales. Though naming their nature of business advertising, most applicants were given perfumes product for direct sales. I was like WHAT THE F***... We went all the way there just to be almost cheated? ...

To be continued... my eyes are darn tired now.... Maybe tomorrow and the movie review too..
