Vietnam Day 1 : HANOI 14.03.2010

Hey you'all~ I'm back...

Guardian Of Knowledge

~Luggage~

This was the first time I managed to supercompact my luggage. The rest of the family had huge bulging bags already while I still had much spacing even without the extension. I'm so smart. Hehe...

~see the spaces available~

Muahaha... Decided to bring along my blankie... ^^

~ Today marks the first day of my adventure ~

Overall the tour around the temple was fun for photo taking, the rest... I wasn't interested in hearing, scenery was amazing, air was fresh and clean.... Most important is that I miss climbing, Skills are now rusted... Need immediate polishing, anyone up to join? LOL

and... ps: Ice-creams are nice =D

The walking made us quite hungry so we went eating =)

After the not-so-delicious lunch, we went for a stroll, ate too fast, done within half an hour despite the numerous dishes served.

Not-so-contended look~

Colourful street view~

Me n sis again...

Our next destination was just a couple of minutes drive away. Took the opportunity to rest my legs nevertheless...

History Museum

The structure is quite nice~

Evolution...
Any resemblance with the one in the mirror? Hehe...

Sea of flames~

Never miss the opportunity for a shot~

3D art of the wars waged in Vietnam

Turtle of longevity

I want a long, long life... With you of course... ^^

The Thousand Hand Goddess
(Hopefully she can lend me some of hers
I usually don't have enough...)

Bell rings of the past~

Who said Museums are boring huh?
Me... If I don't cam all the way in there... Haha..

Okay peeps, moving on is a show...
Remember I told you we're gonna go watch some water puppets? So here we go, the water puppet show. It's included in the itenary and I thought it was gonna be fun..."FUN" it was... Lemme show you some pictures.... They speak better than my words...

Noticed the one in yellow is a guy?

All 4 of us asleep, only dad's awake...

After the boring hour of puppetry, we were finally recharged. We then head to the nearest temple as my mom wants to have a peek. LOL. She does this every trip overseas.

Lake - Mirror

The beautiful green lake~

Models are back alive....

Mirror 2... Beautiful~

The whole lot on the bridge

Temple gate~

Temple exit ~ Family

Somewhere not to far from the temple was a lake-view spot...
This is where I cam-whored a moment. Hehe...^^

Do I look exhausted? ~

To boost up our energy, lets go for a cup of coffee...
At a local coffee shop~

I know it looks more like a prostitute lane~

Us at the mini tables and chairs..
recommended by our tour guide(red lady)

Iced coffee with whisked egg(raw)

Hot coffee with whisked egg(raw)

Coffee w/ yogurt~

They all have a weird combination right? But I tell you, its amazing. You won't even know there's raw egg in your coffee if you're not told. Its one of the local favourites so we gave it a try. I had the first blood coz no one else dared. LOL ~

Bunch of leng zai and leng lui we met there~
Dad and one of them loves photography

Shoot ~ Caught gaming....

We're a food craving bunch of people so we tried all sorts of street delicacies.

Sticky rice with few kinds of meat~

One thing about Vietnam. Cars don't stop for you. They just slow down so you have to have enough guts to walk through them or you'll never reach the other end. Having crossed streets in KL which is somewhat similar make this no feat at all for me... However......

Sis terrified to cross... Muahaha...

The common streets of Hanoi

Tea breaks over. Models back to work~

and again...

What did I tell you... We love food.
Doesn't this look familiar? ^_^

Me grabbing a ite out of the ever sodelicious KEBAB.
Only RM 2.70 or less... Worth it...

After all the food, we're still not satisfied....
Now its dinner time... Wohoo...

We're dining at the famous Western restaurant in Hanoi...
More of like TGI back in KL....

~AL FRESCO's~

The set menu

The amazing super sized ribs
The chef overestimated me....
He gave me 4 juicy & fat ones....
The others get 3 scrawny ones only... Muahaha..

BBQ Chicked Fillet~

Carbonara pasta~

Us taking our sweet time....
Enjoying~

Orient Express Train

After the amazing dinner it was time to head to the train station.
We'll see sleeping over in the train all the way to LAO CAI.
LAO CAI is another province I guess...

Waiting for the train to arrive~

Passenger are still departing the train...
Random lady~

The room is so tiny.. OMG...
It is really really tiny....

Even the corridor is very narrow...
Definetly not for people of bigger size...
I wonder if they're biased... ^_^

Look, now you can see how really tiny it is.
My head will smash into the roof if I wake suddenly from a nightmare.... Luckily I didn't have one... Weeee......

After that it's nights off and.... zzzz....
