Genting Nov 09 Part I

This is where I've spent nearly 2 days with some of the greatest people I've known in college as our farewell trip. The planning, I've done have gone back for nearly a month.

The morning of the day started off like any other or as I've thought. Until I knew something was terribly amiss. I couldn't get through his phone. He hasn't woke up which by this time he should already have. I panicked already early in the morning with an empty tummy. Taking all I had I dialled his number with my life on the line. LoL, maybe I'm a little over dramatic but hell yes I was panicking, for the first time in a very long while. I hitched a ride up to his apartment 5 minutes away in my dad's Innova after plenty of nagging and frustration.

Upon reaching his place I realised I had no plan whatsoever on my mind. I ran to his block took a lift up to his floor with the lucky help of a resident exiting the condo early in the morning. His was at the top floor so it took hell long to reach the top although in fact was only seconds. Reaching his door, I tried ringing the bell but to my disappointment was in no good condition. I took a nearby umbrella from another condo unit and tried knocking then... No reply, DARN I'm dead. Or actually he's dead (I'll kill him later...LOL) I even tried consulting a young auntie’s advice on how I can reach the unit he was living in - GUARD HOUSE was all she gave... With frustration piling up i took the hellish long lift ride down to ground floor to seek for further assistance. At the guard hose, they were pretty helpful compared to what I had in mind. They tried to inter-com the condo until but to no avail. As my final resort, I dialled the number of one of his friends in the same unit for help. It was sure embarrassing to ask someone help to wake up that pig. I'm sure the day would be better off afterwards but little did I know how narrowly wrong I was. In a couple of minutes he called my cell and I was ordering him to be ready in 5 minutes or we'll definitely be late. ( I guess I was kind of unreasonable but I was already pissed off by that time..)

~10 minutes later~

Where the hell is that bloody ********!!!! ( OK I was majorly pissed off that time although not anymore...) He still hasn't come down yet so I started come down yet. OMFG! He later appeared with an all too apologetic face. Sigh, too bad I wasn't ready to forgive just yet. Cold treatment for 1 minute then followed by the blankets of carpet bombs. Finally someone has seen me when I am truly ruthless, but I just didn't have the heart to give it all out... What happens if he break...LOL.. Anyway, back at my place I gave it a quick shower then his turn. I went and styled my hair but due to my explosive nature at the moment, my hair turned out wilder than it should... LOL....

OMFG I'm running out of time!!!!

It's already 7.30am and I'm still at home. My bus is scheduled at 8 am and how the hell amI supposed to get there in time. The best thing would be that all my friends’ tickets are with me. 10 bus tickets amounting to RM 50 if I do not reach there in time would go to waste and not to mention the extra money I will have to fork out due to my fault. The day gets worse and worse I guess and my freaking headache is bugging me all the way, deteriorating my mood further as the clock ticks by. Somehow he managed to calm me down on the way and we figured out a solution.

~7.50am~

I've reached Melati station, hopped off his car and sped my way to the LRT station. Lucky me for I need not queue up to purchase a ticket from that all too sluggish ticket-er (what do you call them already? Argh... screw it... moving on..) I just made it in time for the departing train; there goes my effort to style my hair. I never knew this one station could take so long, I was feeling agitated the whole short 60 seconds journey.

~7.55am~

I succeeded in arriving before the bus leaves the station. After handing over some of the tickets, documents and vouchers I told my friend to go on ahead. “My other friend” and I will head up on the next ride. I guess my problems are partially over when my friends manage to board the bus. NEXT!!!! I went to the counter and after a long chat and finding some small cash for the lady in charge; I bought the next ride at 9am. That aunty was such a bitch, she insisted I spend at least RM 5 at her stall or she won’t exchange small change for my fifty bucks.... (F*** you bitch! You’re supposed to help someone in need not take advantage. Disappointed... btw this aunty is the one left to the ticket counter selling tidbits at Terminal Putra LRT station)

Upon finishing my business had I only realised another group of TARCians from BIO class could not get on the bus despite having the 8am bus tickets. Apparently some middle aged pigs went and screw up the whole seating plan. Well I guess I’m not the only one out of luck. The remaining hour consist of him trying to cool me down with little or no luck

~9.00am~

Finally boarding the train, I was partially relieved. The best thing was when I was boarding the bus, the other group of TARCians were astonished that I could hop on the bus. I was like “Why not? I have the 9 am bus ticket” which left them stunned. Apparently they did not purchase the next ride’s tickets and was hoping for there to be extra seats to accommodate all 10 of them. That at least put a smile on my face as I knew I did something correct for the entire blundering morning. The ride up was more sort of a total headache and dizzy-filled. However, things were about to change as we reached the Skyway lower terminal.

He was busy testing out “giam sui di” or something like that at a duty free shop selling all kinds of cuttlefish, sweets, prunes and dried fruits. There are tonnes of samples there but I wasn’t in any mood to be food-testing around, therefore making my way to the skyway cable car station as swift as I can. Here comes the fun part as we boarded the gondola with only another aunty sitting back facing us. He was extremely terrified as our journey on cables began. I would say this is so far the most memorable ride on the cable car to Genting as I’ve finally found someone more afraid of heights than I am. He was pouting, shaking, shivering, a little screaming and nearly in tears due to –

Afraid of Heights

He curled up into a ball and did not budge the slightest as we ascended up Genting Highland. The scenery was remarkable as usual with the soothing green surroundings and chilly fresh morning mist. I always preferred colder weathers over hot ones as my hairstyle would need lesser maintenance. It was a short 20 minutes ride which I am sure was hellish for him, but by the time we reached the top, my anger subdued after the hilarious ride. Hungry as we were, we went searching for FOOD when he suggested we tried out “HOU MEI”, one of the frequent restaurants he visited while at Genting.

However their Western menu has been rid off leaving us with only choices of noodles. The meal was average in comparison to the pricing but I guess the customer service is still satisfying. Finishing the meal, we headed to the lobby to check in to the hotel. We have been assigned a number 00190 on which the receptionist suggest we come back later around half past one. Following her advice, we deposited our luggage at the bellboy counter and headed for the theme park.

I guess GOD really is helping him because there was already a steady downpour greeting our exit from the building. Heading to the counter to buy two all park access tag in hope for a better weather in the afternoon we went. In the end, we only managed a few simple rides of Merry-Go- Around and the ferry wheel.

Nevertheless it was enjoyable with those closest college friends. The rest of the day was wet causing an increase in the crowd indoors. There was however a sequence of events known to only those who went for the trip which I had planned for some time. Slightly embarrassing but relieved that some amount of truth is finally revealed to those dear to me; they were very accepting and it definitely made my day. This part will only revealed to certain people so do ask me personally but if I reject your request, fear not coz the problem lies not with you.

After transferring the luggage from the counter to the room, three of the girls decided to have a quick nap while the rest of us went for late lunch you could say. Again everyone had noodles at a noodle shop and ain’t I ever so glad that they serve rice too... Yipee... I ordered a honey roasted chicken with plain rice. My choice was the best of all since I made no complaint while the others, well.... They weren’t exactly satisfied with theirs. Moving on we split up into 2 groups of pairs and a lone ranger. He left before we could invite him with us. Having nothing specific on our mind, we headed for the new 4D mini-theatre set up near the exit of First World Plaza. Any f***ing long queue I dare say! From the entrance it looks empty but as soon as we entered, we knew this could take a while. Little did we know a while isn’t that short after all coz the management had a very misleading idea by setting up a spiral queue separated by wall to give a false impression. We ended up waiting for nearly an hour before reaching the end of it. Then what? A 10 minutes low budgeted 4D clip before exiting the theatre. WTF was all I could say for all the sweat I had to pour and definitely the dizziness which bugged me through the entire process. He was not exactly feeling too well too after the movie so we headed back for a quick shower to refresh ourselves.

Back at the hotel, my unit was empty as the other guy went to sleep in the girls room, he forgot to take the key card from me. Both of us went lay down and chit chat for some time before heading for a shower. The hot bath did some good to my headache and I felt tonnes better than before, it was then a short half an hour nap before the girls called. Did I mentioned I like sleeping half naked as I like the cold? =) Quickly put up some decent clothes and off we were to rendezvous with the girls. Maybe I was still sleep so I couldn’t recall the exact chronograph of the events. I remembered there was a buffet, a walk in the chilly breeze before a bowling and some picture taking.

I guess I’ll just go at any order I can recall of. We went down the both of us and had a walk in the freezing afternoon due to the endless rain. The girls were having some time at the arcade so the both of us went for some fresh air. The entire outdoor theme park was closed, which is a great disappointment but the weather is still to my liking. We went to the furthest end where the crowd is minima and sat down to enjoy the misty afternoon with little raindrops. As the mystifying blanket of ice wrapped around my body in addition to the howling winds, I stood up and embrace it all. The feeling was slightly orgasmic, okay... only a little...LOL.. He was starting to freeze already despite the denial so after a couple of minutes, we went back to the warmth of the indoors. The pair of couple was already hungry so we went along for a steamboat buffet for only RM19.90 which was considerably cheap at Genting. The other lone ranger tagged along as well. We wasted nearly two hours feasting on whatever they have there. Some of my favourite includes pan fried wanton which was very crispy, the sweet soup after all the added ingredients and MEAT. I am a meat lover, and I absolutely crave nearly cooked meat. With its tender texture, juicy oily gravy and a little taste of the remaining blood I took hell lot of a serving than I would usually do. I know it’s bad for my health, which is why I do not usually indulge in these kinds of meals. Other than that, the atmosphere was nice plus I have a great bunch of friends to chat with, while eating of course....

~Time for a break~
