TAMBUN LOST WORLD

It has been quite a while since my “BIG FAMILY” had an outing such as this. Our group was too big which most of the time bring too much of an inconvenience. Nevertheless, I enjoyed every single one of them for they are memories I would never forget.

Venue : Ipoh, Perak
Activity : Tambun Lost World
Date : 14-15 March 2009

As usual, I was awoken from my 4-hours slumber by mum mom screeching morning call. Being blur and all, I stuffed my belonging which consist of only a small backpack and readily fell back into my dreams. Long after then was I only truly awoken by my growling tummy and my filled bladder. Reaching a pit stop, I hastily used the restroom for my relief. Staring at the mirror was a shock for me, and probably most passersby - my hair was a mess. Forcibly, I tidied them as best I could before returning to my dad’s vehicle. I ate some snacks I brought along to fill up my tummy for the moment. Then back I was to my cozy sleeping position.

The next time I raised my eyelids, Tambun Lost World was within sight.
We had to check in at some Suncity motel first.

As upon reaching well early before check-out time, we decided to keep most of our belongings in the car and head out to the water park. Owh, did I left out to you all guys and girls who are unfamiliar with Tambun Lost World that it is a water park under Sunway Holdings? My sincere apologies.

I still look darn blur

First off, we did a full family photo. It was hell of a big group I can say.

What next? Play time!!!

All ready to rumble~

We rushed in (after paying the entrance fees of course), changed into our comfortable outfits and off we went. I started off with a group consisting my uncle, his children, me and my siblings. Having tried out all the water slide, which was a thrill, though not as much as Sunway I remembered 8 years ago, we went for a stroll around the park. Lunch was then around the corner. Their food and beverages sure are costly though not tasty. I ordered a bowl or “AIS KACANG” to cool off the heat.

After lunch, we decided to go for a river journey in some of the floats on rent. We had fun with all those funny animated monkey and frog sound effect along the way. We had a view of some of the Siberian Tigers kept there. They are definitely big in size. Did I mention the weather was beautiful? Thank God.

Guess we're having fun.

After the river tour, we went out the man-made wave portion of the beach. There I met up with some of my relatives who came along. I’ll try and explain our relationship as simple as possible, so don’t get confused. First was my “uncle” who was 2 years short of me. His mum is my grandma’s sister so I should call him uncle right? But who cares? I ain’t gonna call anyone within 5 years range of my age uncle or aunty. So, basically I stick to their names. Call my rude, I don’t give a damn. Anyway, the other two teenagers we played together are my new relatives. My aunty is their stepmom for the past 4 years or so, we haven’t met till Chinese New Year in January. Since our age gap isn’t too large, we played like mad monkeys. There’s is their sister and dad too, never actually spoke to in person...hmmm... Anyways we were busy trying to tip one party to capsize the float, if you get what I mean... Then sun was burning right at us unforgivingly, and little had I know that I would suffer the consequences later on.

Later, I went for the second round of river tour with these bunch of teenagers and my uncle by foot. We we’re much luckier this time. The little show was just about to start. Those big cats could jump 5 meters high. After seeing that stunt, I literally took 1 step backwards. The trainer was feeding them meat and giving us some short facts about these great beauties. We headed back to the water slide for more fun. Time was short, and all the adults were hushing us home. I could have stayed an hour or more.

At the park, I realised something. I am fat, and no longer fit anymore. Seeing all the muscularly built body around definitely was depressing me. I gotta change my lifestyle. After all I wanna achieve my dream body by the end of the year.

Look I'm fat... HELP!!!

At the motel, we had a quick shower and off we were for a delicious dinner at a nearby Chinese restaurant. For a picky eater like me, I’d say it was overall satisfying - though I am clueless about the price. We had covered 3 tables with 30 of us there, I wouldn’t even wanna guess the bill.

Upon reaching the motel, I felt my body on fire. I took of my shirt and there stood a great red LOBSTER. OMG, I am freaking red. My family had a laugh at my sunburn condition. My brother was in the same condition as I was too. So no biggie I thought. Against my will, mom applied after-sun lotion or somesort. It just got hotter and hotter. I could literally use the phrase “Baby, I’m smoking hot.” Hell, I could have cooked a raw egg over my body.

I am freaking LOBSTER

Parents went out somewhere later, leaving us three devilish puppies at the room. We called to my new relative’s room and went over for a game of cards. We basically talked “crap” while trying to insult each other politely. It was one of my favourite games. I got a call from dad to have supper - which turns out badly since there wasn’t any parking space. I do not know why but my sis was kinda feeling dislike towards this guy who was a third former – why sis?(Sigh...) Later that night I went to their room again, they were studying, to my surprise. Well, the third former was. He was having some trouble with his Maths so I stuck around to give him some hinters with the help of the other Fifth former. So long since I did such simple maths that I momentarily spaced out. Slept at 3 that night.

The next day, my “SMALL FAMILY” and my aunt went out food-hunting. I think I missed out that we had some delicious curry noodles the day before at some high class, expensive Seng Fatt kopitiam. Anyway, we went for Chinese “dim sum”, some smooth “Tau Foo Fah”, egg tarts, fried ice-cream, fried boneless chicken wing and whatever else I have forgotten. We did try some of the tasty pork satays too. I’ve officially gained some weight.

Most of the day was spent visiting a temple and my granduncle’s home. Then off we were back home. The trip was an enjoyable one and I really hope we can go out more often. The relationship with the further side of my family isn’t really solid and I hardly know their faces, what more their names.
